How it works

Three steps. One working day. No pressure.

The whole service runs through the post — you never need to visit anyone, park anywhere, or haggle with anyone.

01

Request your free pack

We post you a tracked Special Delivery envelope, a hallmark guide, a declaration form, and a tamper-evident pouch. It arrives in 1–2 working days.

Really free — including the postage and the return if you decline.

02

Post your silver

Fill in the declaration — one line per item — and drop the pack at any Post Office. Keep your tracking receipt safe. Covered by Royal Mail insurance in transit.

Higher-value sending? Enhanced cover is available — just say so on the form.

03

Get your offer, get paid

Within one working day of receipt we email your offer with photos, weights, and test results. Accept, and we pay by BACS the same day — usually within 4 hours.

Decline, and your silver comes back free — fully insured, tracked.

What "leading published UK rates" means: before you send anything, compare our per-gram rates with any other published UK buyer — we name no names, but you'll find them easily. If someone reputable publishes a better silver rate today, use them. We'd rather you check than wonder.

Why SendMySilver

Built to be checked up on.

Transparent deductions

Stones, steel pins, weighted bases — our deductions policy is published in full, with examples, before you post anything. No surprises in the offer email.

Same-day quote on receipt

Your pack is opened on camera, tested, and weighed the day it arrives. The offer email includes photos, per-item weights, and test results — our working, shown.

What we buy

If it's solid silver, we'll price it.

Hallmarked or not — we test everything on arrival. If you're not sure what you've got, send it anyway and let the scales decide.

The honest bit nobody prints

Silver-plated items (EPNS, A1, "silver on copper") contain almost no recoverable silver. We don't buy them — and we return them free rather than quietly paying you pennies.

Weighted candlesticks and knife handles are mostly filler by weight. We quote the recoverable silver only, and we'll show you how we worked it out.

Questions

Asked often. Answered plainly.

Is the pack really free? +
Yes — the pack, the postage to us, and the return postage if you decline our offer. There is no circumstance in which we send you a bill.
What if I'm not happy with the offer? +
Decline it with one click. We return your silver by insured, tracked Special Delivery within one working day, at our cost. No fee, no quibble, no follow-up calls.
How long does payment take? +
We pay by BACS the same day you accept — usually within 4 hours. Depending on your bank, the money typically shows the same day.
Do you really pay leading published UK rates? +
Our per-gram rates are published above and computed from the live spot price. Compare them with any other published UK buyer before you post — we actively encourage it.
Why do you deduct for stones and weighted items? +
Because we pay for silver, and stones, steel pins, and pitch-filled bases aren't silver. Our full deductions policy is published, with photos and examples, so you can see exactly how a piece will be assessed before you send it.
What happens if Royal Mail loses my pack? +
Every pack travels by Special Delivery, which is insured. If the worst happens, the Royal Mail claim covers you — and we help you make it, with our tracking data. Sending more than the standard cover? Tell us on the form and we'll arrange enhanced insurance.
Do I need to send ID? +
For most packs, no. UK anti-money-laundering rules require us to verify identity above certain values — if that applies to your pack, we'll ask for ID through a secure link before payment. It's the same check a bank would do, and it protects you as much as us.
What if my items turn out not to be silver? +
We test everything free. Plated or non-silver items are simply returned with your pack, at no charge — we'll tell you what they are, which is sometimes useful to know anyway.
